Do you adopt a "Whatever happens will happen" or "It is what it is" attitude?
Overcoming passivity goes beyond just being active. It requires Intentional Living.
Intentional living says, “This is what I want. What must I do in order to make it happen?”
We all know that all actions have consequences and they can either be positive or negative.
Passivity left unchecked can lead us into poverty and rob us of God's blessings.
Proverbs warns us about many lifestyle habits that can keep us from fully enjoying God’s blessings or, worse yet, experience spiritual bankruptcy.
Consider these verses from Proverbs:
Proverbs 20:13 “Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes, and you will have plenty of bread.”
The lazy person claims, “There’s a lion out there! If I go outside, I might be killed!” Proverbs 22:13
A sluggard says, “There’s a lion in the road, a fierce lion roaming the streets!"
As a door turns on its hinges, so a sluggard turns on his bed. - Proverbs 26:13-14
One of the men lying there had been sick for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?”
“I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.”
Jesus told him, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!” John 5:5-8
Join us as we discover which key areas we need to be intentional about, how to overcome passivity and unlock God's promises in our lives.
