This is a fascinating condition characterised by roller coaster highs and lows in mood. You will discover why this is a condition where psychiatrists could miss the diagnosis through no fault of their own.

Yet accurate diagnosis is needed for correct treatment to be given. With proper management, the best chances of recovery can be achieved.

In this talk, you will learn
-the essential facts about Bipolar Disorder
- how to recognise features of Bipolar Disorder
- who are its likely victims and
- what are the causes of this condition

Are there overlaps between Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia, and what are the similarities and differences? What proportion of patients recover?

You will also learn about the treatments available, how a simple salt -like compound, Lithium Carbonate, can be one of the most powerful and effective drugs available in the treatment of this illness.

The good news is we can expect relatively favourable chances for recovery.
