Two years into the COVID-19 pandemic, the world is seeing a retrenchment wave followed by a resignation wave. So many whom we personally know in the Church, at home and at work are in between jobs right now. Some are intentionally taking a break to rediscover their passions and meaning in life.
How do we make sense of this season of intentional or unintentional rest that God has brought us into? I found that many people go into an anxious frenzy of unhelpful activities during a season of rest. Simply put, we don't know how to rest WELL when called to rest! What does biblical rest look like?
For those of us who are employed, many are experiencing a burnout and weariness from being overworked. Being able to work anywhere now actually means we end up working everywhere. Flexible work hours have blurred the lines of work days and rest days, work hours and rest hours. Some of us are battling crises day and night to keep our companies afloat in this recession. We truly need God's wisdom in this area of work and rest.
During this talk, Kenny will be answering some of these questions through the Word and his life experiences:
1. Is the practice of the Sabbath relevant for Christians?
2. What does it mean when Jesus says He is the "Lord of the Sabbath"?
3. Why do we feel unrested even while we are not working?
4. How do I meaningfully rest in the way God intends?
5. What is God's balanced design for healthy daily living regarding work and rest?
