Just what is the main thrust of the book of Revelation? Why do so many find it difficult to read, understand and apply?
Although the dramatic imagery and visions in the book of Revelation often grab our attention, it would be wrong to be distracted by debates and controversial interpretations of these prophecies. They are there to provide important context and emphasis, but our focus should be on the main message:
This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus. - Revelation 14:12
This talk will help you navigate all twenty-two chapters of this book to understand the context and urgency of this message, without overwhelming you with cross-references, esoteric details or jargon. Using simple language, clear illustrations, and plain explanations, we will :
- Piece together the big picture revealed in this book
- Discuss the purpose of the seals, trumpets and bowls of wrath and their effect
- Unpack the difficult topics such as the beast, rapture, and tribulation
At the end of this talk, you will have enough information to understand God's message in this book, the reason and to whom it was written, and how we ought to respond to it.
If you have been struggling to understand this book, or to find relevance in it for our daily lives, sign up for this talk. Perhaps this fresh approach will give you the insight you are seeking and inspire you to study the book of Revelation yourself.
