Depression is a common disorder that afflicts more than 10 percent of the world's population. In Singapore over 5% of the population have a lifetime risk of developing this disorder.
Dr Leslie Lim, who has written the book DEPRESSION - THE MISUNDERSTOOD ILLNESS, will be speaking about the clinical features, causes, complications and treatment of depression.
Come and find out who are those who get this condition, those who are at risk, and those who are more likely to attempt suicide. There is hope for sufferers, but they need to know how they can get well and how they can stay well.
About Dr Leslie Lim
Dr Lim has been a psychiatrist for nearly 30 years. He trained in Psychiatry in the United Kingdom and is currently a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist at a busy General Hospital.
He is a Clinical Associate Professor in Psychiatry and an Adjunct Associate Professor at two medical schools in Singapore. He is the past President of the S’pore Association for Mental Health, and is listed in Marquis Who’s Who in the United States.
He has written 3 books DEPRESSION: THE MISUNDERSTOOD ILLNESS, MENTAL ILLNESS OR DEMONISATION? and FREEDOM FROM FEAR. They are all available in both English and Chinese.
